That having been said, this approach to product promotion must be dealt with very carefully, because if an affiliate starts promoting everything by recommendation, his/her credibility will actually wear thin which can certainly lead to a suspicion that recommendations from that affiliate are exaggerated and without much merit.
The one thing an affiliate can do to protect his/her credibility is to state – without fear – the truth about those things that s/he does not like about a given product or service. This way, instead of losing any points, the affiliate’s recommendation
Furthermore, if you are that affiliate with visitors who are really interested in what you are offering, they will be more than delighted to learn (from you) what is good about the product, what is not so good, and how the product will benefit them. Keep in mind, though, that when you recommend a certain product, there are some things to remember on how to make it work effectively and to your advantage.

On the other hand, if you are not exuding confidence and self-assurance in endorsing your products, your visitors will likewise have little confidence in buying from you, and therefore go in search of another product or service which they think is more believable.
How do you establish this aura of expertise? By offering unique and creative solutions they would not get anywhere else. Show proof that what you are promoting works as promised; and display prominent testimonials and endorsements from respected and known personalities from related fields.
It is better to sound low key and confident, than to scream and seek attention; especially since you would not want to sound unprofessional and have that thinking permeate through your website to your potential customers and clients. So it’s best to appear cool and self-assured at the same time.
If you are new to affiliate marketing the one thing you should always be mindful of is that prospects are not stupid; because they are constantly seeking information and advice from other experts and may already know the things that you know. So if you back up your claims with hard facts and data, they would gladly spend hundreds, or even thousands of dollars on your promotions
On the other hand, if you don’t respect their intelligence and believe that they are smart enough to seek comparative information from your competitors, as well as take a serious look at those competitors’ offers, you are gravely mistaken and will be sorely disappointed in your own performance.
While recommending a product, it is also important that you give out promotional freebies. Most Internet users are already familiar with the concept of offering freebies to promote products; but not as many affiliates do this
Before adding recommendations to your product, an obvious first step should be to try and test the product and support, so you don’t run the risk of promoting junk products and services. Just think how long it took you to build credibility and trust among your visitors. All it will take to destroy that is such a mistake on your part.
If possible, offer recommendations of products that you have 100% confidence in. That means you must test the product support before you begin to offer it, so that you can be assured of the fact that people you are referring it to would not be left high and dry when a problem suddenly arises.
