  • The Instant Web Traffic Attraction

In pursuit of instant Web traffic

The primary reason for a website succeeding or failing is a consistent flow of Web traffic or the lack of it; but you already knew that. Of major concern however, for many webmasters, is after they have created quality content, beautiful graphics, excellent sales letters, in-demand product(s) and/or service(s) and then don’t get instant Web traffic to their websites. Some website owners know all to well that good quality traffic and quality targeted traffic in a matter of days after launching, may not be achievable, but they still pursue it.

Every webmaster has the same problem in the beginning. Even I!! Solutions like Google Adsense, Adwords, Classified Ads, Banner Advertising, Blogging, Seminars, niche advertising, article advertising, press releases, opt in lists, affiliate programs and search engines – among others – can be rather costly and may not be accomplished with the kind of speed that many webmasters want to achieve.

In actuality, there is a hidden and unexplored method which many webmasters are attracted to. Link Trading!! At a Webinar I attended sometime ago, this method was discussed as one that will get Web traffic within a day. Specifically, the host indicated that you can increase traffic flow to any newly-launched website faster than any other traffic boosting technique. He said, “…imagine having your website link added to over 8000 websites which are linked to many more, you are instantaneously connected to a network of millions of websites which are already generating a huge traffic flow.”

The instant traffic utopia that isn’t

Although I was familiar with back-linking and knew a little about link exchanges, this “8000 websites” number made me a little skeptical, so I wanted to do a little more research before diving into this “traffic to my website” utopia. My first stop was Wikipedia where I learned a little more about certain linking methods to see if I could “legally” achieve the kind of Web traffic results being discussed.

Here a little of what I learned:

    “A reciprocal link is a mutual link between two objects, commonly between two websites to ensure mutual traffic”;
Resource linking. “Resource links are a category of links, which can be either one-way or two-way, usually referenced as “Resources” or “Information” in navbars, but sometimes, especially in the early, less compartmentalized years of the Web, simply called “links”.
Directory Link Building. “Website directories are lists of links to websites, which are sorted into categories. Website owners can submit their sites to many of these directories. Some directories accept payment for listing in their directory, while others are free”.

Which brings us to “search engine bias”, as discussed on Wikipedia in the following manner:

Although search engines are programmed to rank websites based on their popularity and relevancy, empirical studies indicate various political, economic, and social biases in the information they provide.[14][15] These biases could be a direct result of economic and commercial processes (e.g., companies that advertise with a search engine can become also more popular in its organic search results), and political processes (e.g., the removal of search results in order to comply with local laws).[16] Google Bombing is one example of an attempt to manipulate search results for political, social or commercial reasons”.

Traffic the old-fashion way: Earned over time!

You can read more about it on this Wiki page.

You and I may have a different way of looking at search engine bias as it relates to link exchanges, automated link swapping and link directories based simply on how Google, the number one search engine on the World Wide Web, views artificially created links and backlinks to our websites; But one think is clear. The search engine (especially Google) will not reward such activity with a high rank on the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).

    List-building the easy way

The point is this. Although traffic generators like search engines will take time to crawl your website and manual linking by trading links with webmasters may take longer than you would like, these methods are better and safer for attracting traffic to your website and not get penalized by the search engines. Accordingly, you need to create content that is relevant to the niche market you are targeting and utilize all of the “white hat” techniques you are familiar with, such as:

Google Adsense, Adwords (PPC), Classified Ads, Banner Advertising, Blogging, Seminars, Niche Advertising, Article Advertising, Press Releases, Opt-in Lists, Affiliate Programs and Search Engines, because in the final analysis, despite the cost and slow pace (lack of speed), you would be assured of one thing. Your work will not go in vain due to your website being penalized by the search engines. You and I cannot afford that kind of penalty and therefore should resist the attraction of instant web traffic.

  • Traffic Void? Use Manual Traffic Exchanges!

    List-building the easy way

Can manual traffic exchanges fill the traffic void for you? MTEs come a dime a dozen on the Web. Just do a search of the term and you will get about 3,930,000 results. That having been said, they are people who say traffic exchanges really work, and others who feel that they are a waste of time. However, as with most other systems on the Web, there is a method of using manual traffic exchanges that will help you to get the best results, so you need to do your homework.

    Traffic exchange solution viability

There are many manual traffic exchanges that depend on bells and whistles to attract members, they present games to play, bonus credits for answering questions while surfing, (some of the questions are to discourage cheating, and failure to answer them correctly could result in the suspension of your account); but first you need to know your target audience.

Most people who use traffic exchanges – manual and auto – are not looking to join your program or buy your product, they are looking for the same thing you are. How to get more traffic to their website or product page. They are looking for information. Information is what sells on traffic exchanges, information on how to get more traffic to the members’ websites/pages.

    Traffic exchanges can be useful

So how does this help you if you are not selling information? The answer is splash pages and squeeze pages! Use splash pages and squeeze pages to collect leads, then develop personal relationship with them and introduce them to your product or service.

Next you’ll need to find the best traffic exchanges for your purposes. Different people have success with different traffic exchanges even when they promote the same page. Why? The answer to this question will depend on a number of things… What time you surf, how often you surf, etc.

To join a few traffic exchanges for driving traffic to your website, you will need a tabbed browser such as Firefox or Chrome. Firefox is highly recommended because of the extra virus protection it provides, but some have had issues with that browser, so if Firefox won’t work for you try Google Chrome, which is also tabbed, or another tabbed browser of your choice.

Learn the TE features and procedures

Set up your traffic exchanges in groups according to their timer. Timers run anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds, and the closer the timers the smoother your surfing will be. Try to surf no more than 5-8 traffic exchanges at a time, but no more than 10, and keep a look out for the same pages as many pages have the member’s name and/or a photo on them.

If you see the same page over and over, one of two things are happening. One, the member has put his/her page in the exchange more than once – which is encouraged by some traffic exchanges – or; Two, most likely you really are seeing the same page over and over.

If this is the case you don’t want to waste your hard earned credits in that particular traffic exchange. If in doubt use the traffic exchange(s) with a built-in hit ratio. This tells you what percentage your page(s) will be viewed by unique members each day. Some owners only care about the quantity of clicks and not the quality of those clicks – but more often than not – quality will be preferred over quantity, although both are important in the traffic exchange arena.

Use traffic exchanges that deliver best results

Set a certain time to surf, twice a day if possible and the amount of time you can devote to surfing each day. Surf each exchange about an hour each day, for instance if you have three hours to surf each day divide your traffic exchanges into three groups. Whatever time you can allot to surfing, it’s a good idea to divide it up evenly.

You also have to track your pages to see which ones are working and which ones you need to change. If a page works in some exchanges and not in others, simply change the ones that are not working or remove them from the traffic exchange that it isn’t working in. Make sure to always have an extra splash page ready to try in your traffic exchanges.

And remember that the bigger the exchange the more people see your page, but that doesn’t always mean that it is the best exchange. You may get more signups from some of the smaller exchanges than the biggest ones. So if you want more bang for your click, don’t just settle for bells and whistles, do your “Due Diligence” and select the best traffic exchange that suit your traffic needs.

  • Getting a Consistent Flow of Website Traffic

    Setting the foundation for traffic

Anyone who owns a website knows the importance of website traffic. An individual may have a terrific idea for a website with an excellent product or service, superb design, great content and excellent functionality; but if s/he does not use the right techniques, that site may not attract the all important highly targeted website traffic required to keep it visible and relevant.

Getting a consistent flow of traffic to your website has very little to do with the site itself and a lot to do with how the webmaster or website owner advertises and promotes it. With hundreds of competing sites, you must employ the most effective Web marketing techniques that will actually deliver results.

There are different Web marketing techniques a webmaster can use; and all these methods and strategies aim at increasing your website traffic because s/he must find a way for web surfers to find his/her site. So, if you are such a website owner and want to drive traffic to your website, you have to put yourself in the shoes of your prospective visitors and future clients and see the internet through their eyes.

Make the search engines love your site

Where do they usually go whenever they are looking up something on the web? The answer is a search engine. In fact, of the two most popular websites on the web today, one is a search engines and the other is a social network portal. Thus, you should focus your Web marketing efforts on the search engines, unless you have some expertise in the area of social media marketing.

People will usually search for something using a search engine and click on the top sites – sometimes the top 3 to 5 sites – found on the search engine results page (SERP). Therefore, you must use the right Web marketing techniques to get a high search engine ranking. To gain a high ranking in the SERPs, you can use several Web marketing strategies.

Search engine optimization is a set of methods that are aimed at improving the visibility of your site in the SERPs. Since the method of indexing sites utilized by search engine is looking at the site’s popularity (one-way links), content relevancy, meta description and – in some cases – keyword density, your site’s content must have favorable popularity, content, meta-tags and a keyword density that will make it “search engine friendly”.

    Use the article submission strategy

Content relevancy is one of the most important internet marketing techniques itself. If you provide excellent content on your website that is fresh (not duplicated), geared towards achieving a high search engine ranking as well as provide useful information to your visitors, then you can expect a reasonably high search engine ranking. However, this is not as easy as it sounds. Countless other sites may be using the same internet marketing technique as you are. Thus, you must continuously find new ways of attracting more website traffic.

Aside from the traditional marketing techniques such as print ads, billboards, brochures, testimonials, flyers etc. you must also use other effective Web marketing methods to gain additional website traffic. One of the most popular internet marketing techniques today is submitting articles. Writing and submitting articles is an extremely powerful method for promoting your websites, products, and services.

By writing short articles on the topic related to your website, you can offer these articles for other website owners or newsletter publishers to use by submitting them to a number of article directories.

Article directories: attractive to humans and bots

These directories get crawled by search engine “bots” on a regular basis because of the high value of content they provide. If you have not yet been picked up by the search engines this is the easiest way to get them to find you. You also get exposure to those who are looking for articles in the directories for use on their sites.

    List-building the easy way

When they make use of your articles on their websites or in their newsletters, you will get the credit as the author along with a link back to your website. Not only will you get visitors, but you will benefit from the hyperlinks that are created. This internet marketing technique is now being used by thousands of site owners. It has gained popularity because of its relatively high success rate in attracting a consistent flow of website traffic.

  • Tips And Techniques to Generate Traffic Via Search Engines

In pursuit of search engine traffic

Web Traffic! And lots of it is the dream of every webpreneur. After all, without a steady stream of visitors – or should I say potential customers – to your website, how will you earn your Web fortune?

In the first place, where do most Web business start-ups go when they need a quick traffic fix? The search engines! And rightfully so because, after all, the top ranking position(s) on a major search engine is one of the most effective ways of increasing traffic to your website(s) without spending your hard-earned advertising dollars.

Statistics have repeatedly shown that anywhere from 20% to 80% of your website’s visitors will find it via a search engine. However, you should also know that statistics show that most web surfers never search beyond the top 30 results they receive, and in many cases they don’t go beyond the first 10. With that in mind, it is clear that a top position should be the goal of any savvy site owner.

Ranking well in the search engines

But top spots are no longer achieved by crossing your fingers and blindly submitting your web site to 900+ search engines and directories using a free submission service. Competition for top spots is getting fierce, so it is important that you learn the “right” techniques if you want to ensure that your website is well ranked. Even more importantly, you should do so while this great advertising medium is still FREE!

As I said before; for high traffic generation to your website, it is very important that your site ranks in top spots in a search engines. You may ask “What are the search engine looking for when they rank my web site?” Well, although each search engine uses different set of algorithms to rank web sites, generally speaking, there are still basic similarities and requirements.

In the following paragraphs we discuss a few of the main factors considered by search engines over the last decade or so.

The link popularity method of ranking

Alta Vista, Excite, Lycos, and the web pages search promotion of Yahoo! use a ranking system that involves measuring and ranking the number of links that are directed towards a particular web site. This is an extremely powerful traffic generation tool because:

Reason One – Building a well thought-out linking strategy is a powerful way to attract large volumes of high targeted traffic. By putting your web site on every major web “intersection” where your target market meets, you will ensure that your web site receives a steady flow of qualified potential customers.

Reason Two – Links are equivalent to recommendations! They established credibility even before the visitor reaches your web site, dramatically increasing the likelihood that they will buy.

Think about it… David arrives at his favorite web site and notices that they have posted a link to your web site. He knows and trusts his favorite web site and therefore assumes that, because they have a linked to you, your business must be credible too. He clicks through the link to your web site and is immediately open to offers you present him with. Why? Because your credibility was established before he even arrived at your homepage.

Reason Three – Since many a search engines now factor link popularity into their ranking decisions, your linking strategies are that much more important! If you want to be ranked as high as possible in search engines, you now need a factor in your link popularity – and, as you already know, earning a top spot in the major search engines is key to increasing your web site traffic.

Obviously, developing a linking strategy that generates a high volume of targeted traffic to your web site is not an overnight process. It will take you anywhere from two weeks to six months to secure quality links you need. However, I promise you that it is worth the effort! Once you have done the initial footwork, the links that are established will remain on these web sites for years to come. Your perseverance will pay big dividends in the form of a continuous flow of targeted traffic generation.

Domain name and keyword density factors

A domain name plays a vital role in traffic generation to any web site. Domain names rich in keywords will rank higher in search engines because a search engines love URL’s that are saturated with keywords. Brainstorm keywords and key phrases for your web site and then use them to create a catchy URL, or load the domain name with your best keywords to get ranked higher in the search engines.

Keywords definitely refers to the number of times your keyword appears throughout your site. Your keyword density is a factor that is heavily weighted by a search engines, so it’s very important to make strategic use of your keywords.

So, these are some of the important facts, tips and tactics through which you can drive high traffic to your web site. I should also mention that you should not expect to enter a couple of your top keywords into the search engines and instantly start making money through your web site – that is a one-in-a-million possibility. But yes, you can really get high traffic via search engines without crossing the line into “keyword stuffing” and with a little time and very little money, if any at all.

  • Give Your Website A Traffic Boost

    Boosting website traffic: Basic steps

Boosting your website traffic seems to be a simple enough statement, and if approached with the right mindset, tools and resources that simple statement can become a reality in less time than you think. But – and this is an important but – if your approach to boosting website traffic is lacking in any important areas, the simple statement will remain just that…a simple statement and nothing more because the traffic boost will be very long in coming, if at all. To begin, let’s take a look at some of those traffic sources.

Directories help locate websites within specific or definitive categories. The difference between search engines and directories is that, directories feature only vetted websites – sites that have a certain standard and contain information of substance – and search engines cover just about all types of existing Web traffic.

One aim when using directories is simply to boost traffic. To achieve this, you must choose to have your website featured in large, organized directories like Yahoo, DMOZ, and LookSmart. These will drive highly targeted traffic to your site (subject specific), increase significantly your website’s link popularity, and your website’s Google PageRank.

    To maximize your website exposure

    1. Find a category that is most relevant to your website. The category and subcategories must totally fit the subject of your site and its purpose. For example, if your website is a health related business the site must be featured under health and not business. Only then, will surfers seeking health related websites access yours. Do a keyword search that is relevant to your website on the directory. The directory will present categories relevant to those keywords. Choose one which is suited in all aspects.
    2. Create a title and description that will boost traffic not reduce it. The title must be “dead on.” It should include the most important key word and if possible start with a letter towards the beginning of the alphabet. Plus, the 15-25 word description should succinctly summarize the purpose and/or functions of your website. While being descriptive and informative, try and weave in as many keywords pertaining to your website’s subject as possible.

    Utilize Available Tools & Resources

    Prioritize your to-do traffic list

    • Purchase keywords from one of the pay-per-click search engines or directories
    • Make your website search engine-friendly.
    • Pay attention to text and image content. Heavy images reduce search engine visibility.
    • Use backlinks on appropriate directories and trade or business listings.
    • Check out the backlinks used by competitors.
    • Add new content regularly. This encourages visitors and search engine spiders to return. Make sure the content is keyword rich.
    • Start and maintain a web log or blog. This can become an active way to boost traffic while simultaneously disseminating information.
    • Market your website by printing its address on business cards, paper bags, packaging and so on. Distribute an e-zine or updates as newsletters regularly to customers and business associates.
    • Consider paying search engines for improved listings and fast appraisal of your site.
    • Direct content towards search engines by utilizing cloaking technology.
    • Run advertisements on related websites and mailing lists.
    • Adopt a reciprocal link program.

    Monitor, analyze, and be unique

Maximize traffic by monitoring your traffic regularly. Analyze visitor movements and frequencies. Find out what is effective and what is redundant. Use cookies efficiently. Understand technology and use it to the maximum. Keep updated on new innovations and developments. Write down a workable website marketing strategy.

There are simple steps to accomplishment: be different, make sure your website is refreshing and delivers what it promises; create a network of supporters; be honest in your business ventures; deliver on time at affordable prices; always be a diligent student, constantly innovate your website to keep stride with changing times and technology; carve out an exclusive niche and diversify in directions that are relevant to your business model.

    Create a daunting presence!

  • Traffic Creation Tips For Your Website-Part Two

    Google Adwords and similar resources

The continuation of Traffic Creation Tips For Your Website begins with another method of generating traffic, albeit a paid method. Google AdWords.

Another method of traffic generation is to buy it. Yahoo, Google, Bing, Overture and similar paid traffic sourses, sell advertising space. In the case of Google adwords you can pay to have you site on the first page but this can be an expensive proposition, $1 or more per click, to mere pennies. Why do people choose this method. First, it brings targetted traffic to your site. The advantage of targetted traffic is, the folks who come to your site are looking for your exact topic and thus are more likely to stay on your site, which results in higher conversion rates.

The problem is although Google says it rewards content rich sites with lower click costs the truth is the better ad wins, not necessarily the better or most relevant site. To explain this further, Google will lower the cost of your clicks and even raise you in the list if more people are clicking through. The truth though is, you’re being rewarded for having a great ad that people want to click on.

The advantage of this method is you are guaranteed traffic. The disadvantage is the costs and the time it takes to tweek your ads so they work at maximum efficiency. However I do know of businesses that survive on Google Adwords alone for advertising and make a very good turnover on their business products, so it works well for them. But again the greater demand for the keyword, the greater the number of competitors there are.

Bang for your buck! Surfing programs!

There is one way to reduce or eliminate the cost disadvantage. Simply choose to limit your target audience to a particular country, region or even city. Obviously the target audience is further limited by language. Not much point in advertising your English content site in Bulgaria because first, it’s not an English-speaking country and second, they may not have access to the Web. If you’re paying money for advertising on the Web make sure you are reaching the right audience for your ad(s).

Another way to generate hits to your site is to join numerous surfing and traffic exchange programs that will create site activity. These exchanges will generate “hits” to your site so the traffic is not targeted as in paid traffic sources. In fact you can buy thousands of hits and get them in a very short space of time but although normally cheap e.g. $9 for 1000 hits, it has a myriad of disadvantages.

First, you are only advertising to other exchange and surf members, many of them are competitors, already in the same programs as you, not really interest in your ad. I’ve found that you can build a down-line and contact list from surfing and exchange programs, however keep the ad or website display very basic. With a 15-30 second counter on most programs, people just aren’t going to read a Hollywood movie script even if its glowingly good, they are going to scan and then click the required button to move on to the next site. It that 15 seconds you’ve got to grab there interest.

The best type of ads to use in TEs and surfing programs are free offers, appealing to their needs or wants. Often in this case a single page with an e-mail enrollment form is the best bet for getting results. One distinct advantage of most of these programs though is, if you build a downline with them the amount of free traffic you get increases.

You can surf for traffic at your leisure if you can’t afford to pay for it, you might even find a program that perks your interest. Also in this category you can nclude banners, banner exchanges, text links, videos, etc., which work on the same principle of one hand washes the other. If you are interested in surfing programs the link below to free traffic hits is one suggestion.

    Longer term methods.

I refer to these techniques as longer term methods because they require a greater work output on your part, but they can result in great traffic results. One such longer term method is article writing. Articles submitted to articles directories like Goarticles, Article Fever, Isnare, etc., act as a magnet for search engines. Content rich and quality controlled, if you get an article listed in one of these forums/libraries you have the ability to have a constant stream of traffic through attached links.

Another long term method is to contact and link to other similar sites. You can do this by requesting other webmasters to do this or create you own sites and link them to one another. Another long term method is to create an op-in e-mail list and encourage people from your list to visit your ‘great’ site with your ‘unbelievable’ offer.

Of course, creating a blog with interesting and fresh content doesn’t hurt either. In conclusion, I don’t recommend any method over the other. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. It depends only on what you are advertising and what fits best for your campaign. On the whole I don’t think you can go wrong if you do all the above methods as an encompassing Web marketing strategy. If you do, over time your internet presence will increase as will your total traffic.

  • Traffic Creation Tips For Your Website-Part One

    Generate traffic and create hits

This article is a quick overview about some methods of traffic generation and their advantages and disadvantages. It is the goal of any website on the Web to attract as much traffic as possible, so it can be seen. One of the problems is the Web is now so huge that there are more pages in it than people on the planet.

How can you get hits and a flow of traffic to your solitary page? If you’re creating a page for general interest or fun without traffic your goals are not met; And if you’re generating traffic for a business website it is literally a case of have traffic or have your business dies. It doesn’t matter if you have the best website site, with great content, fantastic graphics, audio, video and a multimedia experience better than Disneyland; if no one comes it is all for naught.

The Web is not like Field Of Dreams – “if you build it they will come” – no they won’t. Google has about 8 billion pages indexed on the Web and its growing everyday. If you create a new site your chances of having a visitor just stumble on your site is about the same as winning the lottery. How then do we change the game so people can at least appreciate the work put into a website, or in the case of a business or affiliate website, visit to make a decision to buy? The following are some of the most common methods.

    Search engine optimization

Basically this means you optimize your pages with the right keywords in the right places so that the search engines index your page as having great CONTENT in relation to key search words. The simple fact of the matter is that your chances of being on page one for the most popular search terms is next to zero.

You will find – thanks to the American domination of the Web – that the most popular searched keywords tend to be American personalities, like Oprah Winfrey, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, etc. Ever wonder why there are so many gossip magazines? The Web is not that different. Gossip is one of the most popular topics.

So if you were to create a new website about one of these personalities thinking, hey I’ll get some of that traffic for myself. I’ll do an Oprah Winfrey site! Content rich, etc., your chances of getting to the top is practically nil. Why? First, because you’ll have 100,000’s to millions of competitors and your chances of being optimized – not only with great content – but with relevant links and important keywords will be nil as well.

    Ranking for specific search terms

All is not lost however, because it is still possible to create a niche website and get rated on the first page results. For example, type “marketing internet niche treasures” into the Google search engine and you will see my website at www.intermarkeffiliates.com is rated number one, two, and three. This site is probably of no interest to most people but for affiliate marketers it’s a nice niche topic.

Its not that I have a college degree on the subject but the basics on the subject rates high because the site’s content strongly matches the search phrase, “marketing internet niche treasures” or just “niche treasures” even though the site is likely lost from the radar.

To summarize, one of the first methods of traffic generation is to have a site rich with keywords and content that will draw in search engine traffic. Remember though, the more competitive the keywords the harder this will be. Some companies specialize in generating rich content and links from others like rich content sites targeted to high rating keywords and charge big money for the privilege. Fees can range in the $50,000 and up range. Why? Because free traffic to websites from search engines means big chances for profits.
